First Baptist Church Alvarado Praise & Worship
We use a variety of groups and mediums to worship our Lord and meet the worship needs of our diverse congregation and community. Because of our belief that God is most honored by meaningful lyrics and sincere hearts in worship, we utilize many different musical styles for our worship services including contemporary songs, praise choruses and songs, traditional and modern anthems, gospel music, hymns, and instrumental praise.
Our Worship Team includes singers, guitarists, bass players, drummers, keyboardists and occasionally violinists and brass players. The first priority of our team is to sincerely worship our Lord in spirit and in truth, and then to motivate and lead our people to do the same. The team rehearses on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings. Contact our Associate Pastor of Worship Glen Turner if you are interested in auditioning for this group.
Our Worship Choir prepares challenging and encouraging messages through song for our worship services and also special seasonal musical multi-media presentations. Our choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 and there is no audition required, (for ages 13 and up) just come and join in the praise!
We believe the reading of God’s Word is a vital part of worship and so we include scripture readings on a regular basis. We also incorporate drama, skits, pictures, and videos as appropriate.
We offer a Children’s Music Camp for a week each summer and present a musical at the end of camp. This is for all children entering grades 3 through 7 in the Fall. We also often involve our children in our seasonal worship musicals, for example at Christmas and Easter.
